The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) accreditation is recognised globally as the gold standard for financial planning professionals. It is awarded by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and is only granted where the holder can demonstrate they meet rigorous international competency, ethical and professional practice standards.

  • J02 (Trusts)

    At the end of this unit, candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the: legal principles associated with the creation and management of a trust; main types of trusts that are common in the UK; taxation considerations relevant to trusts.

  • R01 (Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry, including regulation, legislation and the Code of Ethics

  • R02 (Investment Principles)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of investment products and the application of the investment advice process.

  • R03 (Personal Taxation)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK taxation system, and the ability to analyse the taxation treatment of individuals and trusts during the investment advice process.

  • R04 (Pensions and Retirement Planning)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse pension and retirement planning issues.

  • R05 (Financial Protection)

    This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse financial protection planning issues.

  • R06 (Financial Planning Practice)

    This qualification helps advisers develop and demonstrate their financial planning capabilities.

  • FA2 (Pensions Administration)

    This unit provides the essential knowledge and skills needed by those working in, or starting a career in, administrative and pensions roles or staff working in the life and pensions sector.

  • Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning

    This meets the FCA's qualification requirements for retail investment advisers and helps candidates to develop core technical knowledge and financial planning capabilities.

  • Award in Financial Administration

    This RQF Level 3 award provides the essential knowledge and skills needed by those working in administrative and operational life or pensions roles. The Award offers the choice between life or pensions administration, each satisfying the FCA qualification requirements for overseers of certain administrative life and pensions functions.

On the job

Dominic has worked in financial services since 2014 and became a qualified adviser in 2018. He specialises in financial planning for clients approaching retirement, at retirement, and beyond, offering advice on pensions, investments, estate planning, life insurance, and Inheritance Tax mitigation strategies.

Whether clients seek guidance on managing their wealth during their lifetime or preserving family wealth for future generations, Dominic provides support and solutions that will endure for decades.

Life beyond work

Dominic was an avid football player for various 11- and 5-a-side teams until a knee injury in January 2022. However, it opened the door to becoming an Ipswich season ticket holder, allowing him to witness their promotion from League One to the Premiership.

At home, he and his wife have a two-year-old Tibetan Terrier named Evie, who served as the guest of honour at their recent wedding. Dominic also enjoys board games, travelling, and socialising.
